JIMBOOMBA sporting clubs say they still have concerns about council's new leasing policy which have gone unanswered throughout the consultation process.
The clubs welcomed some of the changes announced last week but said concessions made to water, sewerage and garbage rates will make no difference to clubs which are not connected to town services.
Secretary of Jimboomba Little Athletics Peta Smith said her club had sought legal advice when it received the new lease.
"We were horrified to see this lease, our maintenance costs are going to be massive," she said.
Ms Smith said the lease required the club to take out 24/7 public liability insurance which would be another huge financial burden.
"We're covered for when we're using the grounds," she said.
Jimboomba Cricket Club secretary Cassandra Hayes said clubs in the former Beaudesert Shire were getting a "raw deal".
"(Council) have never done anything for us, it's always been up to us to do everything ourselves," she said.
"It's a bit of a slap in the face."
Ms Hayes said clubs would be burdened with additional maintenance duties as well as a mountain of paperwork.
"I don't think they realise how much extra work is involved," she said.
