THREE FuturePros Tennis Academy members have received a confidence boost after conquering the goals they set for themselves at the start of the year.
After coming fourth in the Brisbane junior development series last year 13-year-old Josh Irwin's goal was to win the Brisbane competition this year and make it to the state competition.
Josh was successful at this and said competing at a state level was a great experience.
"It was tough at states but it was what I had aimed at making so competing in it was rewarding," he said.
"My goal for next year is to improve on my performance at the state competition, provided I place in the top two in the Brisbane series again."
Hunter Thompson, 10, and Jacob Marks, 9, both played in the under 10s Gold Coast junior development series last year and placed third and 13th respectively.
Hunter's goal was to win the under 10s tournament this year, while Jacob wanted to make top three.
Both achieved their goals, with Jacob placing second just behind Hunter's first place.
Hunter and Jacob said while it was tough competing against eachother, they had always stayed friends after the tournament was over.
"It was a really intense match and I was really happy I won the last points," Hunter said.
"It was very exciting to come second because I improved a lot on last year," Jacob said.
FuturePros Tennis Academy coach AJ Thompson, who is also Hunter's mother, said she was proud of how all three boys played throughout the year.
"It is so rewarding to see all of them achieve their goals and they are massive achievements," she said.
"To have two boys place first in their division and one place second is pretty amazing.
"It is testament to the focus, dedication and training they have put in throughout the year."
