OUTSTANDING year 12 student Jacob Olsson has been named Dux of Canterbury College at the school's annual excellence awards night.
Jacob also received the extracurricular music prize, was first in ancient history, first in music, first in physics and for academic excellence.
Minglan Sheng and Darashpreet Singh came in second to Dux, jointly winning the University of Southern Queensland Springfield Campus Proxime Ducem Accessit.
Other major award winners included Tessa Markham, who was first in year 11 and Akshaya Ajit, who was first in year 10.
College vice-captain Jessica Bohan, year 12, was awarded the Hayden Pryor Memorial Prize.
Dean of senior school Mr Tony Nutt said Jessica exemplified the College's motto, "The better prepared the stronger".
Bridget O'Brien, year 12, was named sportsperson of the year and has received a scholarship to study exercise physiology and play Division 1 Collegiate basketball in the United States.
Lauren Conway, year 12, was awarded arts person of the year for performing in many of the College's extracurricular ensembles.
Yawen Liu, year 12, received the Archbishop Aspinall Award as the student showing the greatest academic improvement in senior year and Chloe Wilson, year 12, received the Quota Club of Beenleigh Quiet Achiever Award.
