THE festive season will be celebrated at Greenbank Rural Fire Station with three Christmas open nights next month.
Santa will be at the station on December 5, 12 and 19 to meet children and listen to their Christmas wish lists.
Colourful Christmas lights and decorations will cover the station, carols will be sung and the fire trucks will be out and ready to be explored by excited young ones.
Greenbank Rural Fire Brigade first officer Fabian Stangherlin said everyone in the community was welcome to come along to the open nights and celebrate the festive season with their local firefighters.
He said about 450 people attended last year's open nights and he hoped more would come this year.
"The brigade really enjoys putting on the Christmas open nights for the community and loves seeing the children excited to see Santa as well as looking through a fire truck," Mr Stangherlin said.
"It's a great way for the community to get to know their firefighters and for us to do the same."
Mr Stangherlin said the brigade would also promote fire safety at the open nights, especially with the weather being hot and dry with little rain.
As a fundraiser for cancer research there will also be a "dunk a fireman" tank at the open nights.
The three open nights will run from 6pm to 8pm at 133 Teviot Road, Greenbank.
