WORKS are under way to improve the safety of three key Mt Lindesay Highway intersections.
Early works begun on November 4 for the installation of traffic lights at the Millstream Road intersection.
Work to upgrade St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road intersections at North Maclean were due to start Monday.
The highway will be reduced to one lane with traffic controllers in place.
Main roads has advised motorists to expect delays of about five minutes.
Both North Maclean intersections will be upgraded with a dedicated right-hand turning lane for north-bound traffic.
Logan MP Michael Pucci said the works were funded by the Queensland government's safer roads sooner program.
"While we currently have the lowest road toll on record, any death on our roads is a tragedy", Mr Pucci said.
Beaudesert MP Jon Krause said the important works would significantly improving safety for motorists.
The works are expected to be completed by early next year.
