FLAGSTONE will light up in coming weeks as residents finalise their entries in the estate's 2014 Christmas lights competition.
Drover Crescent resident Tamara Uhlmann is already getting stuck into her entry, busy creating her very own Santa's Zoo.
The self-proclaimed child-at-heart said she was thrilled to hear about the Flagstone lights competition recently.
Her animal lights display has excited children in the area since she first started it six years ago.
"We did it mainly because my mum used to do it," she said.
"I love Christmas and I wanted to do something different, so my husband came up with the idea, why don't we do animals.
"There will be snow, an African area, Australian (animals) and fun area with candy canes for kids to sit in a sleigh and get their photos taken.
"The kick I get out of it is hearing kids say 'mum did you see the kangaroo' or 'where are the koalas', it's so much fun."
Flagstone Community Association president Bob Wiley said he was excited to see what residents in Flagstone would come up with.
"This is a great way to get the community together," he said.
"We are also hoping to get some entries in from kids, as long as they have put their display together themselves with no help from mum or dad."
Entries to the competition will close two weeks before Christmas, with judging to take place on December 21.
Mr Wiley, a representative from Flagstone estate developer Peet and Logan Country Chamber of Commerce president Kelly Cousins will judge the displays.
"First prize will be $500, second prize will be $250 and third $100," Mr Wiley said.
"We are still looking for businesses to come on board and help with sponsorship."
