FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a grass fire burning at the edge of the Birnam Range Reserve on Mona Drive, Jimboomba.
Crews from the Woodhill and Jimboomba Rural Fire Brigades attended the scene about 2pm on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire burnt through about one acre of bushland at the edge of the reserve and scorched roadside grass.
Woodhill Rural Fire Brigade third officer Tom Tait said the fire was slow moving and "relatively easy" to control.
"We arrived at the scene and put the fire out in about 45 minutes," Mr Tait said on Wednesday afternoon.
"We are just dampening the area now to make sure if it does flare up again, it won't get too far."
Mr Tait said some residents in the area were concerned about the blaze, due to the heavy amount of smoke in the region on Wednesday afternoon.
"It has made some a bit nervous," he said.
"We have had some people ask us what's happening, but most of the smoke is coming from the other fire (burning in Yarrabilba)," he said.
Mona Drive resident Stacey Bennett posted on the Jimboomba Times Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, saying firefighters visited her home while the grass fire was burning.
"They asked me to call 000 if I see it coming," she said.
