IT may be small but Logan SES is hoping its newest vehicle will make a big impact.
Named Logan Angel, the Mini, transformed into a replica SES car, was unveiled at the Logan Village SES earlier this month.
Logan Mayor Pam Park was on hand to introduce Logan Angel, 10 months in the making, to an excited crowd of SES volunteers as well as the wider community.
The one-of-a-kind Mini was only made possible through the hard work of Logan Village SES group leader Paul Browning and a few other dedicated SES volunteers who spent hundreds of hours painstakingly putting the masterpiece together.
Mr Browning said it was fantastic to see the Mini unveiled and hear positive comments about it from fellow SES members.
"It's been good fun working on it and it's rewarding to hear all the hard work and blood, sweat and tears, which there has been a lot of, has paid off," he said.
At every stage of the Mini's transformation the generosity of Logan businesses, community, groups and residents played a part, whether it was for the car's upholstery, paint, engine parts, car parts or the labour required to rebuild the engine.
"It really is the car that the community has helped build and we couldn't have done it without them," Mr Browning said.
He said the Logan Angel would be used to promote the SES at shows and community events throughout Logan and further afield.
"We want to draw people in and get their attention to what we do and I think Logan Angel will do that. It will definitely turn heads," he said.
Logan SES local controller Jim Ferguson said Logan Angel was a fantastic achievement for the SES and would be invaluable in creating awareness about the selfless work of its volunteers.
