LOGAN talent will be on display in Sydney when the Mustangs Brothers League Club's under 15s go up against an international team from the Cook Islands.
The Chambers Flat side will play a trial match at Sydney's Lalor Park on Saturday, October 4.
The game, a warm up for the Cook Islands team ahead of its clash with Samoa, will set the local under 15s team against its toughest competition yet.
Team coach Brian Gallagher said it was a fantastic opportunity for the side.
"The Mustangs Brothers RLFC under 15s division one side are true brothers in arms when it comes to the game of rugby league," he said.
"Most of the current players have been playing together since under 7s.
"It has been a wonderful nine year journey watching young children go from chasing a footy around to developing into skilful, talented and respectful young men.
"This will be the chance of a lifetime for these boys to play against a top league side."
The team will also attend the National Rugby League grand final at ANZ Stadium while in Sydney.
Gallagher said entire trip would be a great experience for the team.
"They have really held their own as a team for the past three years and despite a few injuries, have defeated some top sides in their competition," he said.
"This will be a great bonding session for the team and a reward for the huge efforts they have put in on the field and off."
The trip to Sydney would not have been possible without the generous support of the community, with several community members and businesses chipping in to help fund the trip.
As well, the team received a $500 grant from Division Nine Councillor Phil Pidgeon as part of council's 2014-15 Mayor's and Councillor's Community Benefit Fund.
Team manager Karen Owen said she believed the team would do the Logan community proud.
"I'm hoping this will be a life experience that they will always remember," she said.
