STUDENTS at Woodhill State School were as unruly as possible on Friday as they raised funds for children with cancer.
Each student donated a gold coin as they took part in International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
The children donned their best pirate outfits for the cause and spoke in their best pirate voices.
Woodhill State School prep teacher Sue Lovegrove said the children were proud to be helping others.
"We always do our best to support worthwhile causes," she said.
"The children know that they are helping others less fortunate while they are having a bit of fun."
The school also heard its Read Aloud Morning on Friday, which parents were invited to take part in.
Ms Lovegrove said combining the two events was a great way to end the school term.
"Our Read Aloud Morning is all about encouraging the children's love of books," she said.
"It's so worthwhile to have the parents involved as well."
