CHAMBERS Flat Rural Fire Brigade welcomed the delivery of a new $171,000 fire truck on Wednesday.
The purpose-built four-wheel-drive truck will replace a 19-year-old vehicle which first officer David Heck said was overdue for retirement.
Mr Heck said the new truck offered more storage and carried more firefighters, which would be of great benefit to the brigade.
"All of the improvements we've asked for over the years they have built into this truck," he said.
"It's pretty amazing, I can't fault it."
The new fire truck came fully equipped and ready for action.
"It came pretty much ready to go to a fire, except for water," Mr Heck said.
The truck was officially handed over to the brigade last Wednesday by member for Logan Michael Pucci.
Mr Pucci said it was great to see the Chambers Flat brigade equipped with the latest technology to save property and lives.
"I've seen these guys involved in everything from the flood recovery effort to the big fire out at Spring Mountain which was burning for days," he said.
"I know how hard they work and I have nothing but the highest regard for what they do."
