TWO men were charged with causing a public nuisance after a brawl broke out at a junior rugby league semi-final match between Greenbank and Beenleigh on Sunday.
Police will allege the Eden's Landing men, aged 17 and 44, instigated the brawl at Underwood Park when Beenleigh lost the under 18s match by one point in extra time.
Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League (GBJRL) manager Shane McNally said he was waiting on reports from the two clubs involved.
He said both clubs would likely face a disciplinary tribunal and could be stripped of competition points.
"There will be a hearing and that takes a considerable amount of time," Mr McNally said.
"There's a real possibility it will affect the (finals) outcome."
Mr McNally said in the meantime he hoped to see the clubs take internal action.
"I'm pretty confident that they'll investigate and they'll take action," he said.
Police said the brawl started about 3pm and was over before units arrived on the scene.
The club identified the two offenders to police, claiming they abused referees and supporters.
When officers approached the men, police allege they became abusive.
The men were escorted off the grounds and issued with notices to appear for public nuisance.
They are set to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 15.
The Polair helicopter was nearby at the time of the brawl and conducted a flyover of the grounds.
Representatives from both clubs refused to comment.
