A NEW 24-hour service station has been proposed for land on the corner of Cusack Lane and Teviot Road at Jimboomba.
Developers Bluestone Matthews have applied for a material change of use for the site at 1 Cusack Lane and submitted preliminary plans to Logan City Council.
The land is zoned rural-residential and the proposed development is not considered consistent development.
The plans include a 7/11 service station with four bowsers and a caretaker's residence, as well as landscaping and sound buffers.
The service station would employ up to five people and operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The existing dwellings on the site would be removed.
The main access to the service station would be on Cusack Lane, with left-in and left-out access on Teviot Road.
Flagstone Community Association president Bob Wiley said the issue of access was his greatest concern.
"It seems close to the intersection, that is my concern," Mr Wiley said.
Mr Wiley said other Flagstone residents had expressed concerns about the proposal and questioned whether the business was needed.
"There's nothing positive from the residents," he said.
"It seems silly seeing as we're having another servo built in Flagstone itself."
The application, MCUI-13/2014, is open to public comment until August 15.
