FOUR young softballers have hit it out of the park after scoring a spot on the south coast team heading to the state titles in August.
Jimboomba State School students Bella Smith, Shauna Dawson, Brianna Delf and Jasmine Barry will head to Bundaberg to contest the state titles as part of the Beaudesert District team.
They won nearly all their games at the regional event on June 17, impressing the selectors with their enthusiasm, attitude and talent.
Bella only started playing softball last year and said she was happy to have made the team this year.
"It's my first time on the team. I just missed out last year," she said.
Making the team has made Shauna feel proud and she is looking forward to putting her pitching and third base skills into practice.
"I'm looking forward to Bundaberg and playing the other teams. They will be good," she said.
Jasmine said she was looking forward to getting the chance to excel at softball and challenge herself against other players
"I think it will be hard because I don't play softball regularly and I am competing against girls who do," she said.
Brianna said she was also proud to be on the team and excited about heading north for the competition, which would take place over four days.
PE teacher Paul Ball said he was proud of the girls' achievement at the regional event.
"They only lost one game, versus Beenleigh, just because they were nervous and made simple mistakes," he said.
