BRISBANE Broncos fans from throughout Logan thronged to Civic Park on Wednesday for an opportunity to meet their heroes.
The NRL team held a training session at the Logan Brothers' home ground before mingling with fans, posing for photos and signing autographs.
Broncos spokesman Trad Maclean said the event was an opportunity for the club to strengthen ties to the Logan community.
"We recognise Logan as a really important area for us," he said.
"We've got two full time development officers stationed in Logan."
Mr Maclean said the club was looking forward to the opening of the Logan Broncos Junior Rugby League Academy at the Logan Metro Sports Park, Browns Plains.
"We're really excited about the Broncos academy and where that's going to go," he said.
"We're 100 per cent behind it."
Logan City Council deputy Mayor Russell Lutton said construction dates for the upgrade had yet to be confirmed but he expected the facility to be open by 2016.
He said the A-grade facility would be shared by rugby union, touch football and soccer clubs.
