STOCKLEIGH woman Shirley Brown is calling for Logan residents to form a ratepayers union to give vulnerable people a voice in disputes with council.
Ms Brown said she has had many dealings with council over the years as her second acreage property at Park Ridge is earmarked for development.
Ms Brown said she attended consultation meetings but felt her voice was not heard.
"Honestly the council had decided what they were going to do, they had no intention of listening to us," she said.
"It was just a farce."
The retired school teacher said rezoning had devalued her property and council planned to take part of her land for drainage works without compensation.
She also disputed water charges on the property as she said the house was connected to tank water only.
Ms Brown believes forming a union would give residents access to advice and support when dealing with similar problems.
"You've got to have a ratepayers union," she said.
"You've got to have a group where they are frightened enough to listen."
Ms Brown said anyone interested in forming a ratepayers union should phone her on 0401 858 759.
