I HAVE just heard on TV that 350 workers are going to lose their jobs at BHP.
I am astounded that close on the heels of our politicians being awarded a very substantial pay rise more workers are being sacrificed for big business.
Have our politicians no conscience or heart at all?
The ordinary workers in Queensland are slowly but surely being held to ransom to pay for the many, dare I say, stuff ups made by the government.
Not only are we being taxed to the limit but we are told that our assets have to be sold off to get us out of the hole we are in.
Who created the hole in the first place? Not the workers, but this inadequate bunch of people who are selling just about everything they can lay their hands on.
This is usually to a foreign country who, amazing as it seems, all seem to be better off than us, and we used to be called the lucky country.
What are going to sell when the cupboard is bare? This is a quick fix solution and is going to come back and bite us in the future.
