Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was robbed at Park Ridge last night.
About 7pm, the woman was driving along Park Ridge Road when a blue car attempted to force her to stop.
The woman avoided the car a number of times before finally being forced to stop.
The male driver, armed with a screwdriver, then approached the woman’s car and attempted to pull open her door, but failed as it was locked.
The man has then attempted to force open the partially open window before demanding the woman’s handbag.
After the woman handed over her bag the man ran back to his car and drove off.
The woman, aged 19, was not physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance and aged around 40.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
