POLICE are asking those raising a commemorative glass to absent comrades on Anzac Day to do so responsibly and remain mindful that police will be out targeting drink-driving and antisocial behaviour.
Jimboomba Police Senior Sergeant Bill Sheehan said Anzac Day was a day of national significance and police encouraged people to get involved in Anzac parades and dawn services, as well as commemorating the fallen with diggers at the appropriate places.
"However, we encourage people not to over-indulge, and always have a designated driver," Senior Sergeant Sheehan said.
"Police will be out targeting the over-consumption of alcohol and antisocial behaviour.
"We encourage everyone to have a good day but have due respect."
Senior Sergeant Sheehan said police would be showing their respect for the nation's fallen service personnel at the Jimboomba Anzac Day service, as well as participating in the marches at Jimboomba and Logan Village.
