LOGAN Village Falcons Allsports netball players were abuzz last week during a club visit by Australian netball team captain and Commonwealth Games silver medalist Laura Geitz.
Geitz visited the club on Thursday to run a coaching clinic with about 35 excited netballers aged seven to 14.
Netballers went over several skills, stretches and general tips with Geitz and after the clinic, there were photos and autograph signings with the excited youngsters.
Falcons netball co-ordinator Jodie Tunrer described Geitz' visit as amazing and said it was fantastic she had taken time out of her busy schedule to visit the club.
"The girls all look up to her," she said.
"I don't think you can get any higher than that (Australian team captain)."
Under 13s player Hayley Hollindale enjoyed the clinic a lot and said it was great Geitz had come out to for the morning.
"She's so high up in netball and the fact she's come out here is awesome," she said.
"It's pretty cool because we're in the middle of nowhere practically."
Geitz said she loved visiting clubs like Logan Village and hoped she inspired the younger players in the "wonderful sport" they shared.
"This is where the future stars start," she said.
"It all starts here at grassroots and they (Falcons) have grown so much in the last few years."
