COUNCIL'S response to the public outcry on the demolition of a perfectly good and much used tennis court is a perfect example of ratepayers' money being wasted.
On the subject of waste, I used to fume when passing through Logan Village and seeing all our ratepayers' money being wasted with all the men and machines working for weeks on landscaping the park opposite the shopping centre when it is common knowledge the main highway is going through it, in time, to service the growth of the area.
I see the waste when perfectly good grassed nature strips in Brown Plains are being ripped up to be further landscaped with rock, concrete and flowering plants.
Don't get me wrong, landscaping is great.
What upsets me is that council needs to get their priorities right.
When you approach council to upgrade your dirt road and all you are asking for is a few loads of gravel for the safety of your family, you do not want to be told they have no funds to cover it. Sorry - can't help you.
Is it any wonder they do not have the funds.
The way Logan City Council wastes money is shameful.
