RE: Power system needs overhaul (Jimboomba Times, January 22)
Why would you print this? I am an electrical worker and sometimes no matter how good our electrical network is, factors like lightning and trees will take out the power.
People need to remove their head from their backside and understand that sometimes it will take a bit longer to fix the problems as, if there is still storm activity, it isn't safe to replace poles and wires.
There are occasions that there is a simple fix but other times there are multiple issues that make it not possible for a fast restoration of power.
I'm sure Bill Haggard is nicely tucked up in bed while we are out in rain, flood water, hail, wind, lightning etc etc at all hours of the night to restore that luxury of power.
Sorry it sometimes isn't as easy as flicking a switch and it takes many man hours to repair but just think while it's not on you are saving money. Rant over - I could go on and on as this sort of attitude really annoys me.
